As Google's Director, Public Policy, Ann Lavin’s responsibilities include Greater China, Southeast Asia and Asia’s aspiring economies. Working to create the conditions for economic growth and opportunity through the Internet she focuses on a range of issues including economic empowerment, content regulation, geopolitics, privacy, and general technology policy. Before Google, Lavin was a Senior Advisor with McLarty Associates, a US-based strategic advisory firm, and Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council, the principal US business organization in Southeast Asia.
Earlier in her career, Lavin worked in the US government in a variety of roles including a senior manager at the US Department of Energy and the Presidentʼs Commission on White House Fellowships.
